"The positive and negative space together tell a story through the lines and shapes that body creates with movement. The movement forms lines and as the result the lines form an experience and a story; as with each of my designs that starts with body movement and lines on a blank piece of paper."
One of the most important lessons I learned from my interior design college days was from my first class teacher. She taught me how to see things in its own right, how to pay attention and how to see like a designer. Seeing is a lot more in depth than looking. A designer defines an object in terms of lines, colors, proportion, shape, texture, history and most importantly feelings. We are each unique with unique vision and perspective. To see like a designer is to see objects beyond their physical appearance and be aware of our interpretation, association and mindset, all of which impact how we really see. bluebeige designs magazine will focus on bringing awareness to seeing beyond what our eyes see and to develop curiosity for art, design, nature and our surroundings.
I was a dancer when I was younger. I find dancing the most enjoyable and satisfying form of movement and not just movement of body but movement of the mind and energy. The mind and the body need to be in perfect harmony for every move to visually communicate the true emotions of the dancer. Dancing has a way of moving our body around and by doing that we move our perspective and energy. I learned a lot about body movement, body natural instincts and mind and body connection as a dancer. Each move is a certain emotion and a little piece in the story of the whole. The positive energy from the movement fills the negative energy of the air. The positive and negative space together tell a story through the lines and shapes that body creates with movement. The movement forms lines and as the result the lines form an experience and a story; as with each of my designs that starts with body movement and lines on a negative space (the paper). Throughout sharing our vision for all things that inspire us, bluebeige designs magazine shares beautiful and inspiring stories and brings awareness to the concept of human body, human behavior and human connection with design.
